Thank you to April C. Ames-Chase for your service and for allowing yourself and your story to be my first subject as I developed Veteran Stories. I enjoyed watching you grow and learn from your 1991 to your 2005 entries. I hope all of your memories from now on are wonderful and filled with peace.
April and I met during one of the last sessions of the 2014 EBV National Conference. Our instructor asked us what we wanted to know and I jumped in with my questions. I am so glad I did because those questions developed into a new service of Pocket Parks Publishing called Veteran Stories. Through this service, we interview veterans or work with their deployment journals, as in the case of Ms. Ames-Chase, and create a simple paperback book the veteran can pass down through the generations.
